Big thanks to Dawn for sorting out the unaugural Troffers camping weekend at Appletreewick in the Yorkshire Dales.
After seeing the beer festival advertised in the summer at the Craven Arms, we optimistically planned an weekend camping in October. Much fun was had in spite of the weather and although we only got there on the Saturday morning, the rest of the Troffers were encamped after a Friday arrival.
Saturday was wet and windy but plenty of local ale (beers from around the micro breweries of Yorkshire) and an afternoon lunch of Julie’s spicy pumpkin soup followed by a wander on to the Red Lion for a very atmospheric dinner by the roaring log fire capped of a fabulous day.
Here’s a snap from the evening’s revelries.
Schadenfreude was the theme of the weekend and it was both our and other camper’s misfortunes that kept the weekend going! P&J
