We’d heard about this drink – more of an urban myth, we thought as it isn’t on the menu at Anthony’s in the Corn Exchange, but we were assured if you ask for it, it will be served. Julie had one and she declared it was ‘an alcoholic wagon wheel in a glass’. Good enough for me, hopefully it’s the size of the wagon wheels we ate as kids – ie enormous.
Anyway, out last night for Josh’s 18th celebratory meal at Anthony’s. They really looked after us and made it a very special evening – table decorated with balloons and all sorts of stuff, a freshly made, deeply great chocolatey cake and I have to say they looked after us, which was perfect.
Food was well up to scratch (it really is a superb value menu, main course chicken for £6.50?) and the highlight had to be the Cote de Bouef that Julie and I shared. Joy.
