We were lucky enough to be invited to a lecture about the Ashes last 100 years or so. Christopher Martin-Jenkins MBE was entertaining and provided us with numerous facts and figures as well as a selection of footage from Headingleys memorable moments such as Boycotts hundredth hundred in 1977.
Sir Geoffrey Boycott actually turned up and was very willing to answer questions, was forthright and entertaining.
The Rose Bowl is a fabulous building and the refreshments provided were delightful and very welcome.
Lecture over, we made our way down to City Square and ended up at Loch Fyne, a very helpful Kimberley at Loch Fyne made sure the wine was replaced when not chilled properly and was more than helpful with food selection..G and Tony shared 6 oysters and G had a nice chilled glass of sauvignon, Tess, Pat and I decline his offer to share.
