The Yorkshireman

Tuesday 29th September, Jessica’s 23rd birthday

Jessica’s choice was to eat at The Yorkshireman Restaurant at Hipperholme. We have had many meals there and never been disappointed. Run by Chris, Deborah and their son Rob the atmosphere is always warm and friendly. They know their clientele and dining is casual. They have recently re-furbed and the bar area is both comfortably and trendy.

There were six in the party; most had three courses and especially worth a mention were the sizzling tiger prawns in chilli and garlic and the warm salad of smoky bacon and wild mushrooms.

Tony had a terrific rib eye and the belly pork served on a bed of black pudding also impressed. Jessica had halibut with king prawns and that also looked and tasted the part.

We followed up with deserts; to many to remember but Pat’s homemade rhubarb and ginger crumble was excellent.

All in all a really good evening.

  1. I will look into it, but will have to be when we come back from Cornwall. They also do theme nights, tapas night, French cuisine and others, so I will keep a weather eye open.
