Latin culture always strong in Leeds led to an informative night with fellow bloggers at Azucar in the Brewery Wharfe area of the city. The night was introducing Havana Cultura a media, music and arts portal promoting and informing on everything cultural in Havana. The evening was hosted by Krista from the Neon Hub and allowed fellow bloggers to get to know each other and a little bit more about the vibrant culture of Havana. Latin music fans were also treated to a preview of the new Gilles Peterson Havana Cultura CD released later this month.
Azucar is a buzzy latin bar with the most excellent Mojito’s. A buffet of latin nibbles was provided from which unfortunately I sampled only the Nacho’s. This and the atmosphere of Azucar was enough for me to know I will return to try the wider menu.
Apologies for lack of pictures but I forgot the camera on the night. An interesting if brief night for me as I had to dash. Promise of additional nights in Leeds was noted and the opportunity to meet with other bloggers passed an interesting and informative hour. A twitter campaign expands the Havana Cultura initiative and I look forward to more latin events in the future.
