About Globetroffers

The idea for this blog  was born over a lovely long Sunday lunch at The Wensleydale Heifer, in North Yorkshire. The Globetroffers are a group of like-minded food and drink loving friends based originally in and around Leeds in West Yorkshire and gradually expanding further afield.

We embark on foodie excursions both near and far – pursuing our foodie passion in our own backyard and all over the world and writing about it has become a bit of an obsession.

We’re always looking for new Globetroffers to expand our happy band of foodies, drop us a line if you fancy trying your hand. There’s no requirement for exotic travel and we’re interested in all kinds of food stories from home cooking to haute cuisine.

  1. Hi Phil and all,
Apols for lack of contributions. Working and sleeping at present eating doesn’t appear to be an option!!!!
However, hope to improve efforts in the near future.
Looking forward to Mat get together.
    Best wishes, Jill

  2. Hi Globe Troffers,

I would love to invite you to do a review of a restaurant I have just started working with.

  3. Hi there,

You may have heard that Selfridges is hosting Project Ocean, a month long celebration of our oceans to highlight the issue of over-fishing, help us all understand the threats to the ocean and make positive choices about the right fish to buy and eat. We’re partnering with 20 environmental and conservation groups like the Zoological Society London (ZSL) and Greenpeace, and have teamed up with top chefs and fashion designers to raise as much as we can for this worthy cause.

There’s a huge amount going on in Selfridges flagship London store from11th May until 12th June, including:
    • Live cooking demonstrations in the Food Hall from top chefs like Tom Aikens, Linda Dangoor and Bruno Loubet (with recipe suggestions and wine recommendations online)
    • Innovative exhibitions by sculptor Jason Hackenwert, fashion curator Judith Clarke and conceptualist artist Beth Derbyshire
    • Talks by leading thinkers
    • Workshops for kids, offering interactive arts and crafts and educational pieces

We’d love to get The Globe Troffers involved, would you be interested in supporting the cause on your blog? We can provide you with content and images to structure a post around, or a press release if you’d prefer?

    Warmest regards,

    Annaliese Watkins
